(3) The number of reported violent crimes was 1 317 in 2001, 1 275 in 2002 and 605 between 1 January and 30 June 2003. (4) The number of police officers deployed by the Commissioner of Police in the north west metropolitan district was 305 at 30 June 2001, 287 at 30 June 2002 and 296 at 30 June 2003. The change in the number of police officers was due to a review of district boundaries that resulted in the Ballajura subdistrict being moved into the east metropolitan district.
