(2) Not applicable. (3) BCJV's consultants have measured air pollutants adjacent to the eastern exhaust stack that is located close to the eastern tunnel portals. (4) BCJV provided reports on the air quality monitoring to Main Roads WA and Department of Environmental Protection as part of its contractual arrangements with Main Roads WA. Those reports indicate that in a two month period immediately prior to the tunnel opening in April 2000 and in subsequent regular monitoring, the concentrations of oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, ozone and fine particles were well below the National Environmental Protection Measure standards, except for one day when readings were affected by a regional dust storm. (5) Yes.
