HAY STREET BRIDGE —
STEEL FABRICATION
484. Hon CHARLES SMITH to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Hay Street Bridge
being increased by 250 millimetres over Mitchell Freeway southbound in Perth
and media coverage on 6PR radio on 14 May, with one of the callers stating that
the main precast concrete and/or steel beams were being made in China.
(1) Are the main precast concrete
and/or steel beams being made in China?
(2) If no to (1), where are they
being fabricated?
(3) If yes to
(1), is the minister aware that there are many companies in WA that can
fabricate both concrete and steel beams?
