Given 2010 commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Western Australia–East Java Sister-State relationship, for each department and agency in the Minister’s portfolio, please detail:
(a) ongoing programmes and individual projects involving Western Australia and East Java;
(b) ongoing programmes and individual projects involving Western Australia and Indonesia;
(c) budgeted costs of these projects and programmes, including non-State funding such as AUSAID, the Indonesian Government, etc; and
(d) any events, programmes or projects being considered to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the relationship.

DEPARTMENT OF SPORT AND RECREATION
(a) There is an on-going initiative between the Department of Sport and Recreation and the Government of East Java to establish a strategic plan for the development of sport and recreation. The Government of East Java is currently identifying officials to serve as members of a taskforce to draw up the strategic plan.
(b) There is an on-going initiative in Indonesia that follows on closely with the project undertaken in East Java, where a strategic plan for the development of sport and recreation is underway.
(c) No specific budget has been allocated for any overseas initiatives. Travel and work programs between the two countries have been funded on an as needs basis by the Government of Western Australia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Government of East Java, the National Olympic Committee of Indonesia and the Australia-Indonesia Council.
(d) Discussions are underway with various Western Australian Sports Associations to facilitate sports exchanges with counterpart bodies in Indonesia.
