(1) An Employee Assistance Program provides free confidential counselling services to all staff and their immediate families under 18 years of age. Counselling can be provided for work related and/or personal issues.
If a teacher lodges a workers' compensation claim for a stress related illness, assault or trauma, early intervention counselling services with a clinical psychologist are offered. This is funded through the workers' compensation claim on a without prejudice basis. Vocational rehabilitation services to develop and support a return to work program under medical guidance is also available.
(2) At the school level the teacher is offered a number of supports including first aid assistance if required, debriefing and referral to counselling services through the Department's Employee Assistance Program.
