The Western Australia Police Service advise that incidents of crime were previously recorded on the mainframe Offence Information System (OIS). However, the Incident Management System (IMS) was implemented this calendar year and is gradually replacing the OIS.
IMS stores information in a code type fashion meaning source data is maintained within a set of discrete categories that limits search parameters. Currently, railway station car parks are not specifically recorded with IMS, therefore are not readily reported on. Changes are planned, both within the current application and as part of future stages, to enable ad-hoc data searches to be run.
