Following the Government’s decision to stop granting mineral titles on pastoral and certain other properties, what has been the impact on mining and mining exploration activity in the regions of the minister’s responsibility; namely, the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne? Hon TOM STEPHENS
AnswerView source ↗
I am not aware of any particular impact being drawn to my attention as Minister for the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne that flows from that policy decision. However, I will make inquiries of the minister who has direct responsibility for the resource development portfolio - that is, the Minister for State Development - and also of the Deputy Premier, who has responsibility for native title issues, to ascertain whether they can provide me with information that will throw some light on the question that has been raised by the member. I will make sure that I communicate that information to the member.
