I refer to the Binningup Southern Seawater Desalination plant, and I ask -
(1) Have any couplings deteriorated since the plant went into production?
(2) If yes to (1), could the Minister please specify and identify each incident of deterioration or perishing?
(3) If yes to (1), how were these incidents identified?
(4) If yes to (1), is this within the expected failure rate of these products?
(5) If yes to (1), were other products available on the market with lower failure rates?
(6) If yes to (5), why were these products not purchased and installed instead?
(7) If yes to (1), are there, or were there, any public health implications likely from these failures?
(8) If yes to (1), are there, or were there, any budget implications from these failures?
(9) How often are the perishable parts of the desalination plant inspected for integrity?

(9) The Southern Seawater Desalination Plant is maintained on a daily basis by an on-site team of over 20 people.  This maintenance includes scheduled preventive maintenance, regular inspections to identify corrective maintenance, and routine checks on all perishable components and plant consumables.
