MINISTER FOR POLICE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES - STAFF SUPERANNUATION PAYMENTS
As a supplementary question, does the Premier still stand by the Minister for Police, even though one of his former staff, whose comments the Premier said a moment ago he does not discount, has now said publicly that the minister was lying through his teeth? Mr A.J. CARPENTER

I stand by him. I reiterate my comments about Hayley, if that is the caller about whom the member is talking. Mr D.F. Barron-Sullivan : Are you saying that she is telling the truth and he is telling the truth? That does not equate. Mr A.J. CARPENTER : I listened to the interview. Hayley said there was some contact between her and the minister. The minister cannot recall that. In my lexicon that does not mean that either or both of them are lying.
