Please refer to question on notice 3838. As the Member has stated, the write-off process is covered by the Financial Administration and Audit Act (FAAA). The FAAA has been in place since 1986 and similar provisions were in place in the Audit Act 1904. As a standard practice the agency would be expected to have taken all reasonable steps to recover and amend processes to avoid any recurrence prior to seeking approval to write-off. Compliance with the Financial Administration and Audit Act is audited annually by the Office of the Auditor General and any non compliance is reported to Parliament. Department of Water (1) (a) $2 290.31 (b) - (e) Nil. (2) No. (3) Not applicable. Water Corporation The Water Corporation is not covered by the Financial Administration and Audit Act (FAAA) as it is bound by the Water Corporation Act 1995 which follows the principles of the FAAA. (1)(a) 309 000 (b) 205 000 (c) 776 000 (d) 887 000 (e) 751 000 (2) 40 debts were over $10 000. (3) The Water Corporation, although not bound by the Commonwealth Privacy legislation, has made a commitment to the State that it would apply privacy principles. As a result, the names of prior debtors are not released based on the fact that the agreements we had with those persons/bodies were private in nature and it would not be in line with the privacy principles to disclose this information. Busselton Water Board (1)(a) $4 488 (b) $3 796 (c) $1 285 (d) $6 335 (e) Nil. (2) - (3) Not applicable. Aqwest (1)(a) $25 (b) $1 367 (c) $615 (d) $2 619 (e) $13 014 (2) No. (3) Not applicable.
