The Department of Transport advises:
(1 - 4) The 10 April 2011 announcement referred to the immediate release of 30 plates and the release of up to 300 additional plates over time, following regulatory changes.
The 30 plates (full time Government lease) have been released and regulations to allow access to an additional 300 plates have been published in the Government Gazette and the process is continuing to enable these plates to be release as demand dictates.
(5) The new 4.00am night train will impact on demand for ultra peak services although this is only a component of total peak demand.
