CORONAVIRUS —
INPEX
285. Hon ALISON XAMON to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
On behalf of Hon Robin Chapple, who
is out of the chamber on urgent parliamentary business, I refer to the Inpex
fly in, fly out worker who contracted COVID-19 and was diagnosed after
returning home from overseas when he fell ill.
(1) What negotiations were undertaken by Inpex with the
health department prior to choosing to fly all non- essential staff from
the rig back onshore and put them in isolation in a Broome hotel as a precaution?
(2) If no
negotiations were undertaken, why not?
(3) In reference
to (1), if negotiations occurred, on what dates did these occur?
(4) How did the
FIFO worker contract COVID-19 prior to returning home?
(5) Were the
non-essential workers tested for COVID-19?
(6) Were the
essential workers remaining on the rig tested for COVID-19?
