GOVERNMENT SCHOOL TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS - INDUSTRIAL AGREEMENT
I refer to the existing industrial agreement that determines the pay and working conditions of teachers and administrators in government schools, which expired on 1 March 2006. (1) Noting the commitment by the Department of Education and Training contained in clause 20.5 of the Government School Teachers’ and School Administrators’ Certified Agreement 2004 to further increase duties other than teaching time for primary school teachers over the life of the next and subsequent agreements, why is this commitment not reflected in the two offers made to the State School Teachers’ Union by the Director General of the Department of Education and Training on 4 February and 24 February 2006? (2) What is the quantum of DOTT time that the Minister for Education and Training intends to put in place for primary teachers in government schools in the next and subsequent agreements to meet the commitment made by the minister’s department in the 2004 certified agreement? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
