I refer to the ‘field survey’ currently being undertaken by the Department of Environment Regulation (DER) in the vicinity of the GD Pork Pinjarra operation : (a) how is the survey team determining which days to perform the survey; (b) Is the survey schedule fixed or have weather conditions altered planned activity; (c) why is the survey happening in the winter months of July and August; and (d) Is DER planning further surveys in the same vicinity as the weather heats up and wind patterns change? If so, when are these surveys planned to happen?

(a) Meteorological forecasts are used to assess days on which surveying can be undertaken. The chance of rain, wind direction and wind speed are the main meteorological factors assessed.
(b) The survey schedule is not fixed and meteorological conditions are a key factor considered when selecting survey days.
(c) The survey commenced on 4 September 2015 and subsequent surveys are planned.
(d) Yes. Additional surveys are planned for October, weather permitting.
