ESPERANCE TANKER JETTY
Will the minister agree to the funding and maintenance upgrade of the Esperance tanker jetty and instigate ongoing serviceability of the facility? Hon ADELE FARINA

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Esperance Port Authority handed ownership of the Esperance tanker jetty over to the Shire of Esperance in 1990 with an agreed one-off payment of $150 000 to provide for future maintenance. Since that time the shire has been responsible for funding the maintenance and upgrading of the jetty. No formal request has been made to the minister’s office by the shire to consider funding arrangements for the maintenance and upgrade of the jetty, although the minister understands that the matter was raised at a regional cabinet meeting.
