I refer to the contract(s) between the Housing Commission and Perth Management Services for the lease and management of housing owned by the State Government, and I ask: (a) how many properties owned by the State Government are under management and leasing by Perth Management Services; (b) for each property in (a): (i) where is it located; and (ii) how long has it been managed by Perth Management Services; (c) does the State Government have other properties leased out to or under management by other private sector for-profit management companies like Perth Management Services and, if so: (i) what are the names of these companies; (ii) how many properties are involved for each of the companies named; and (iii) where are the properties located, for each of the companies so named; and (d) are Homeswest applicants on the waiting lists referred to the companies who are leasing properties in (a) and, if so, how many applicants have been referred and why?

The Department of Housing advises:
(a)
The Department owns 91 residential properties that are leased through Perth Management Services.

Yes. These are business and commercial arrangements for fixed-term leases that from time to time are entered into by the Department pending redevelopment of a property or allocation to a housing program. Revenue generated is used for the delivery of housing services. If the Member requires information on any specific private sector for-profit management companies, the Department can assist further.
