The Department of Communities (Communities) funds 99 supported accommodation services across WA, with various models that cater for different cohorts and client complexity. Accommodation services manage availability according to several factors including acuity the of clients.
Additionally, a number of homelessness services are funded to provide brokerage funding directly to clients, including for immediate accommodation or transport.
In regional Western Australia, the State Government funds 39 supported accommodation services, of which 6 are prioritised for young people.
In the Perth metropolitan area, the State Government funds 60 supported accommodation services, of which 18 are prioritised for young people.
The Cook Government has announced homelessness funding of nearly $140 million this year alone to 120 homelessness services across the state and announced the expansion of the Housing First Support Services to support a major regional expansion of the Supportive Landlord Model into Kalgoorlie, Albany and Geraldton.
