(1) As at 1 June 2013, I ask: (a) how many fleet vehicles are provided to each agency or department; and (b) how many non-fleet vehicles are provided to each agency or department? (2) Since 1 January 2013, I ask: (a) what was the cost to the agency or department of commercially cleaning fleet vehicles; (b) what was the cost to the agency or department of commercially cleaning non-fleet vehicles; (c) what is the company name and address of where vehicles have been commercially cleaned; (d) what was the cost to the agency or department for detailing fleet vehicles; (e) what was the cost to the agency or department for detailing non-fleet vehicles; and (f) what is the company name and address of where vehicles have been detailed?

WA Police:
(1)
(a) The Western Australia Police vehicle fleet as at 1 June 2013 comprised of 1419 vehicles, of which 1327 are leased and 92 are owned.
The total fleet number includes patrol motorcycles, light and heavy commercial vehicles and purpose built vehicles. It excludes leased vehicles in transit, quad-bikes, trail bikes, trailers, caravans, tractor/tow-motors or ride-on-mowers and covert vehicles.
(b) 0
(2) (a-f) The WA Police Manual directs that police vehicles are to be maintained in a clean and serviceable condition at all times. The cleaning of vehicles is managed at a local level by the business area utilising the vehicle. In the event that a vehicle sustains malicious damage/vandalism during operational use, a variety of methods, including commercial car washes or vehicle detailing could be utilised to clean the vehicle.
As the cleaning of WA Police vehicles is managed and undertaken at a local level, no central record of car washing arrangements/costs are maintained.
Office of Road Safety:
The Office of Road Safety is administratively supported as part of Main Roads WA and as such the response will be included in the Main Roads WA response under the Minister for Transport.
