(1) The Department of Commerce and Trade expenditure on the six grant schemes aggregated under the heading of regional development schemes is $973 121 as at 20 November. (2) Detailed information on individual grants is tabled in Parliament each year. The following represents a summary of grant expenditure to 20 November 2000: $657 000 has been provided to the nine regional development commissions to fund initiatives relating to economic development in their region; $79 149 was provided to 31 regional organisations to assist with displays at rural shows; $40 000 was provided to the Shire of Chittering under the shared town planner scheme; and $42 000 was provided to Esperance, Newman and Carnarvon under Project Mainstreet. Significant additional expenditures have been made through regional development policy implementation and WA telecentre development and support schemes.
