I refer the minister to this Government’s enterprise bargaining agreement with public servants, including unsworn police officers, dated 1 March 2002. (1) Is the minister aware that as a result of this EBA, unsworn civilian Police Service employees’ working hours will be reduced from 40 hours a week to 37.5 hours a week from January 2003? (2) Is the minister also aware that this reduction in working hours will create a shortage of some 80 full-time equivalents in police positions? (3) Will the minister guarantee that the administrative duties normally performed by those civilian Police Service employees will not be undertaken by sworn police officers to the detriment of front-line policing? Mrs M.H. ROBERTS
