ALBANY GAS PIPELINE
33. Mr P.B. WATSON to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Is the current estimated
cost of this project still $135 million?

AnswerView source ↗

The $135 million for construction
only was the estimate by the Department of State Development. A tender process
is underway, and who knows what the final bids will come in at? As I have said
previously, that will require some investment, probably through Verve, to
maintain a public share in it. That has been quite explicit. Read some of the
press releases that have been put out over the last 12 months. They are
entirely accurate. We are progressing with this project and it is a pity that
the member for Albany is not supporting it.
