I thank the member for some notice of this question. The government is finalising a proposal to establish a shopping centre lease register. The government will introduce a bill to amend the Commercial Tenancy (Retail Shops) Agreements Act 1985 after consultation. Work is already well underway on a model for the establishment of a small business commissioner in WA. Subject to the standing cabinet and parliamentary drafting processes being navigated in a streamlined fashion, the government’s aim is to introduce a bill into Parliament as soon as practicable to establish a small business commissioner.
