I thank the member for some notice of this question. On 27 March 2002, the Minister for Health released a statement confirming that planning for a new health care facility in Denmark would commence within months. Commencement dates are contingent on this planning work. However, the current facility will not be decommissioned prior to the completion of the new works. The minister’s statement further noted that to ensure that there were no delays, initial funding would be provided in the next state budget to commence planning and contract documentation and fund some urgently needed short-term minor works at the Denmark District Hospital.
