I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The following response has been provided by the Minister for
Housing.
(a) It is important to note spot purchases can include
new builds that may be either purchased ''off the plan''
or from new developments. The specific data on types of spot purchases is not
readily collected and would require a manual review of individual files and
sales contracts, and is thus not deemed to
be an appropriate use of government resources. However, if the honourable
member has a more specific question, the minister will endeavour to
provide an answer.
(b) The
Department of Communities is constantly assessing properties across Western Australia
that may be suitable for spot purchase. Some
regions have a lack of suitable housing available for spot purchase due
to a higher level of ageing or inappropriate stock.
Housing
delivery across all regions relies on multiple modes of flexible housing
delivery i ncluding modular builds, prefabricated housing builds, timber
frame builds and internal transfers, as well as spot purchasing.
As the remainder of the answer is in
tabular form, I seek leave to have it incorporated into Hansard .
