INDEPENDENT REVIEW OF
WA ENVIRONMENTAL APPROVALPROCESSES AND PROCEDURES — RELEASE
39. Hon SOPHIA MOERMOND to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Environment:
I
refer to the government's response to my question yesterday regarding
the Vogel–McFerran review of the processes and procedures of the
Environmental Protection Authority, the full report of which has not been
released despite several freedom of information requests. The government
replied that the full report was cabinet-in-confidence.
(1) Are there any
plans to release the full report?
(2) If so, when?
(3) If not, how
does the government expect the people of Western Australia to accept that
changes to the operations of the EPA are in the interests of both the economy
and the environment if they are not party to the analysis behind them?
