(1) Will the minister please update
the house on the progress of this development?
(2) Will the
minister confirm that Lumsden Point will be operational in 2021; and if so,
what quarter in 2021 will the port be operational?
(3) Will the minister confirm that

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. On behalf of the Minister for Ports, I provide the
following answer.
(1)–(3) A request for the proposal for the development
and operation of a general cargo facility at Lumsden Point was concluded in
2020. No proposals meeting the government's financial impact criteria
were received. The future development of the site remains a strategic priority
for the Pilbara Ports Authority and the government. Consideration is being given to how the site can
be developed in partnership with the private sector.
