ongoing delays in processing applications for legitimate firearms owners.

the current grades of service for the processing of applications for original
firearms licences?

member for some notice of this question.
(1) The current grades of service for original firearm
licences is 29 working days.
(2) At 31 August
2014, there were nine original firearm licence applications exceeding the
grades of service.
(3) None.
(4) The delays
were due to the need for firearm licence assessors having to contact the applicant
for verification and/or clarification and to await response from the applicant
to progress the application.
(5) The current rate of service for additional firearm
licences is 21.7 working days.
(6) At 31 August
2014 there were 28 additional firearm licence applications exceeding the grades
of service.
(7) None.
(8) The delays
were due to the need for firearm licence assessors having to contact the
applicant for verification and/or clarification and await response from the
applicant to progress the application.
