the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Energy and
Decarbonisation:
I refer to Synergy's
coal-fired power plant in Collie.
(1) Is Synergy currently engaged in any activities
to plan and prepare for a potential need to keep operating its coal-fired power
plant assets past 2029?
(2) Will the minister advise whether Synergy has
been asked by the WA Labor government to plan and prepare for the continued
operation of its coal-fired power plant past 2029?
(3) What specific
actions is Synergy taking to ensure its coal-fired power plant is able to operate
beyond 2029?

(1)–(3) The state government remains
committed to exiting state-owned coal-fired power by 2030 as planned. Synergy
continues to work towards the nominated closure dates for its coal-fired power
stations.
