KWINANA
BULK TERMINAL — SALE
734. Mr B.S. WYATT to the
Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. Why is the Treasurer willing
to offset any potential liability by way of the litigation with an asset of the
state, but is not willing to do the same thing with Perth Glory in light of its
liability with the Public Transport Authority?

AnswerView source ↗

I fail to see any link between the two issues that the member
has put.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Member for Victoria Park, I formally call you to order for the first time
today. Member for Girrawheen, I formally call you to order for the second time
today. Has the Treasurer finished?
Mr T.R. BUSWELL :
No, I have not, because I want to reiterate the point. The government has been
very cautious in this process. This issue has been discussed at cabinet a
number of times. We have received ongoing advice from the State Solicitor's
Office and from external financial consultants to make sure that we deliver on
our objective, which is, clearly, to deliver the best value outcome for the
taxpayers of Western Australia.
