Given that the collapse of Consolidated Constructions Pty Ltd has left a long list of subcontractors on the Marble Bar to Port Hedland road project in financial strife, with unpaid claims totalling almost $1.5 million on that job alone - (1) Why is the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure not present today to answer questions on this urgent matter when her prime responsibility is to this House? (2) Has the Premier demanded an explanation from the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure of why she signed off on the Marble Bar road contract in July last year when a $2.28 million Supreme Court writ was still current against the company? (3) Has the Premier demanded that ministers provide him with details of any other government contractors that might now be caught up in the Consolidated Constructions collapse? (4) Has the Premier ensured that the minister has used proper due diligence on all contracts associated with the Mandurah railway project? Dr G.I. GALLOP

(1) This part of the question was not put on notice, so, of course, I do not have an answer to it. (2) The Minister for Planning and Infrastructure has asked her agencies for a report on the situation regarding the Marble Bar project. (3) I am not aware of any involvement. My office has sought a briefing on this matter. (4) Consolidated Constructions Pty Ltd also had contracts with the Public Transport Authority, and a status report is also being prepared by that agency for the minister.
