The minister will be aware that I have asked questions about, and taken an interest in, the problems of certain former Agriculture Protection Board employees in the Kimberley who have suffered illnesses allegedly resulting from chemical spraying they did on behalf of the board many years ago. Can the minister bring the House up to date on the state of play with compensation? I have read some recent press articles, but there seems to be confusion about whether a consistent line is being followed. The PRESIDENT: In calling the Minister for Agriculture, I indicate that if his response is of a nature that would be more appropriately provided in a ministerial statement, he might rather take that course than use the balance of question time. Hon KIM CHANCE

Would it satisfy Hon George Cash if I followed that route and made a ministerial statement in the next few days? Hon George Cash: Certainly. Thank you.
