Further to the Premier’s answer to Question on Notice No. 1896 (answered 23 February 2010), noting that it is the Government’s stated policy to notify local members of Parliament of any impending visits by State Government Ministers to rural and regional areas, I ask:
(a) can the Premier provide a list of the dates on which his Ministers have visited the Pilbara electorate since coming into office;
(b) will the Premier list those visits where it was not possible for the Government’s policy and practice to be observed and where the local member of Parliament was not advised in advance of a Ministerial visit; and
(c) will the practice continue where Ministers do not give advance notice of their visit to the local regional members of Parliament, a practice which is increasing?

It is this Government's convention, unlike that of the previous administration, to notify, where possible, the local member of Parliament on any impending visits by State Government Ministers.
It is noted that the Liberal-National Government has a much greater focus on rural and regional Western Australia than the Carpenter and Gallop Governments and we look forward to visiting the Member in his electorate if he is available when a visit is planned.
(a) The dates that the Premier visited the Pilbara electorate are as follows:
· 27 November 2009 Port Hedland and Karratha.
· 18 October 2009 Karratha.
· 8-9 July 2009 Port Hedland, Roebourne, Karratha, Barrow Island.
If the member wished to seek the dates on which other Ministers have visited the Pilbara electorate, he should request that information direct from each Minister.
