COCKBURN CEMENT LTD, SHELL SAND DREDGING
In respect of Cockburn Cement Ltd’s shell sand dredging in Cockburn Sound-Owen Anchorage, I ask - (1) Is Cockburn Cement Ltd currently operating outside the five-mile radius from its landing jetty, described in the Cement Works (Cockburn Cement Limited) Agreement Act 1971? (2) Has Cockburn Cement Ltd ever operated outside that five-mile radius? (3) If yes to (1) or (2), does such an activity require a variation to the Cement Works (Cockburn Cement Limited) Agreement Act 1971? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I am advised - (1)-(2) No. (3) For Cockburn Cement Ltd to operate outside the area specified in the agreement Act would require a variation to the Cement Works (Cockburn Cement Limited) Agreement Act, or an approved mining tenement.
