I refer to the new Route 348 bus service which operates from the Morley Bus Station to the Bayswater Station, and ask: (a) have the Route 348 bus service trial deviations through Mertome Village retirement residence commenced, and if not: (i) when will the Route 348 bus service trial deviations through Mertome Village commence; and (ii) what public transport options are available to Mertome Village residents in the meantime; (b) if the trial deviations through Mertome Village have commenced, when will they be finalised; (c) if the trial deviations through Mertome Village have been finalised, what was the outcome of the trial, including patronage; (d) will Transperth move to permanently establish the deviation of Route 348 bus services through Mertome Village; and (e) if no to (d), what options will Mertome Village residents have for travelling to/from the Bayswater Train Station, Perth CBD, Morley Galleria and Beaufort Street?

The Public Transport Authority advisers:
(a) - (a)(ii) Yes on 28 January 2014.
(b) - (d) The deviations to Mertome Village are not a trial. Transperth continually monitors patronage of all services and as with any deviation it may withdraw a deviation in the event it is not well patronised.
