(2) This question is best directed to the Minister for Police. (3) Section 322A of The Criminal Code specifies the charges relevant to homosexual acts by a male with a juvenile male (16 years but not 21 years). It is not a provision of this section that the acts are consensual but they are likely to be, given the probability of a non-consensual act attracting a more serious charge. For the years 1998, 1999 and 2000, court records show the receipt of the following number of s322A charges and defendants: Year Charges Defendants 1998 45 6 1999 0 0 2000 17 2
