I refer to the Public Sector Workforce Reform Policy, and I ask: (a) what categories of employees were defined as front-line when the policy was announced; (b) what categories of employees are currently defined as front-line; and (c) have any agencies sought to have the definition of front-line employees extended to include groups of employees who were not originally defined as front-line: (i) if yes to (c): (A) who are they? (B) was the extension granted? (C) which groups of employees are now considered front-line in these agencies?

The answer reflects the assumption that the Member refers to the Public Sector Workforce Renewal policy announced in the 2014‑15 Mid‑year Review.
(a) Police officers, teachers, nurses, medical practitioners, fire fighters, train drivers and child protection workers, as indicated on page 10 of the 2014‑15 Mid-year Review.
(b) In addition to those categories in (a), the Government is considering a number of requests to classify other categories of employees as frontline as part of the 2015‑16 Budget process.
(c) Yes.

(A)-(C) This will be announced in the 2015-16 Budget.
