748. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the minister
representing the Minister for Local Government:
I refer to submissions made to the
Local Government Advisory board, which closed on 4 October 2013, in relation to
proposed new local government boundaries in the metropolitan area.
(1) How many submissions were
received by the board and from which sources?
(2) How many
submissions complied with the government's proposed local government
boundaries and from which sources did these submissions come?
(3) How many
submissions did not comply with the government's proposed local government
boundaries?

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) Nineteen
submissions were received. The number of submissions is indicative of local
government's desire to progress reform and this is welcomed by government.
Submissions were received from the City of Swan and Town of Bassendean; and the
City of South Perth and Town of Victoria Park. Submissions were also received
from the Shire of Mundaring, Shire of Kalamunda, Town of Claremont, Town of
Cambridge—two proposals—City of Armadale, City of Bayswater,
City of Canning, City of Belmont, City of Melville—two proposals—City
of Stirling, City of Fremantle, City of Perth, City of Vincent, City of
Gosnells and City of Kwinana.
(2) Four, from
the Shire of Mundaring, City of Belmont, Shire of Kalamunda and City of
Bayswater.
(3) Fifteen
submissions did not comply.
