I refer to the Perth District Court, and I ask: (a) in 2013-14, how many people living in the South West charged with a criminal offence had their case heard in the Perth District Court; and (b) how many of these people had a mental health problem?

(a) In the 2013-14 financial year there were 211 District Court case lodgements * in the South West (Albany, Bunbury and Busselton) of which 11 were heard in the Perth District Court. Court data is provided on the basis of the location where the offence was committed and where the indictment is lodged rather than where an accused resides.
(b) This data is not available to the Court.
* A case lodgement is defined as one accused with one or more charges with all charges having the same date of registration. Secondary processes such as breaches of penalty and breaches of bail are excluded.
