(1) No, the new Albany Health Campus will not have any resident General Practitioners (GPs) based in it. The medical staffing at Albany Hospital consists of seven resident specialists, three registrars (in Psychiatry, Medical and Surgery), and three interns. These staff complement local GPs, who are on contract arrangements, in a service model which provides for 24 hour coverage in the hospital for the emergency department and medical wards.
(2) The new Albany Health Campus will be designed to meet the Australian Standard AS4485 Security for Healthcare Facilities Design Standards and Policies.
(3) The Albany Community Hospice will continue to be a stand-alone facility.
