475. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the
minister representing the Minister for Culture and the Arts:
(1) How much
has been provided in 2012–13 and 2013–14 to Community Arts
Network Western Australia to establish its office in Narrogin?
(2) When does this funding end?
(3) Will further funding be provided to maintain CANWA's
presence in Narrogin?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) The
Department of Culture and the Arts has not provided specific funding to
Community Arts Network WA for the establishment and operation of an office in
Narrogin. DCA provided annual core funding to CANWA of $174 829 in 2013 and
$177 388 in 2014.
(2) CANWA is a
triennially contracted arts organisation and its current contract is due to
expire in December 2014. CANWA has been invited to submit a business plan for
the next funding cycle commencing in 2015.
(3) The
decision to operate an office in Narrogin is at the discretion of CANWA.
