The Minister for Training has been provided with the following response
TAFEWA colleges provide a range of diploma courses, which vary in duration from six months to two years. Diploma courses provide students with a range of practical and theoretical instruction and assessments, and work experience.
In addition to traditional classroom based tuition, TAFEWA colleges utilise a range of flexible delivery options, including correspondence, online or self-paced delivery, for many units and some qualifications, to provide students with a wide variety of options for completing qualification requirements.
Students enrolling in a full-time diploma course are offered the full syllabus on enrolment.
Many TAFEWA qualifications are available part-time for people who are seeking to get specific skills or are unable to undertake a full-time study load due to other commitments. For those qualifications that are available, some units within them may not be offered for part-time study or be offered every semester. Qualifications in specialised fields may not be offered on a part-time basis and/or every semester due to various reasons, such as lecturer and resource availability, and the number of available places in the course. Students seeking to enrol in a qualification part-time should consult with the relevant study area at the college to discuss the options available to complete part-time study.
