General representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to the final report of the Economic Regulation AuthorityXXX ###XXXs inquiry into the efficiency and
performance of Western Australian prisons, released on 4 November 2015, which
highlights a need for greater transparency in the public prison system.
(1) How many
deaths in custody, or associated with custody, have occurred in Western
Australia in the last 10 years?
(2) How many
of those deaths in custody, or associated with custody, are still awaiting a
coronial inquest?
