of excess deaths recorded in Western Australia in the 2021 calendar year, and I
ask: (a) has the Government investigated the number of
excess deaths recorded in 2021: (i) if no to (a), why not; (b) is the Government able to provide an explanation
as to why there was a statistically significant increase in the number of
excess deaths in 2021: (i) if no to (b), why not; and (c) how many confirmed cases of COVID-19 were
recorded in Western Australia in the 2021 calendar year?

(b)   In 2021, the total number of excess deaths was 136 and the percentage of excess deaths was 0.9% in Western Australia.  This was generally within the expected range of variation.

(c)   There were 370 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Western Australia in the 2021 calendar year.
