(1) Carers of people with cerebral palsy are usually eligible to receive the Commonwealth Government's carer allowance of $76.40 a fortnight. (2) Yes. Conductive Education Therapy is one of the modes of therapy judged to be of assistance in the care of people with cerebral palsy. Its principles are more commonly applied in conjunction with other modes of care. (3) Conductive Education Therapy is not purchased or provided in its pure form by the public health system. (4) Care provided by physiotherapists and most other mainstream allied health practitioners may be rebateable under private health insurance policies. The services of a Conductor, like those of many alternative therapists, are not. No allied health services are rebateable under Medicare.
