❓ Hon. Norman Moore questions the Minister's use of 'accept' versus 'support' regarding the Water and Rivers Commission's decision to leave groundwater bores turned off. The Minister avoids directly answering the question, deflecting by stating the decision is the Commission's and blaming the previous government's regulatory framework.

Earlier today I asked the minister whether he supports the decision of the Water and Rivers Commission to leave the 41 ground water bores turned off. His answer was that the decision was accepted. Is there a difference between “support” and “accept”? If they are the same, will the minister explain that that is the case; and if they are not the same, will the minister explain his position? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

The decision is quite properly the decision of the Water and Rivers Commission. It is a decision of the Water and Rivers Commission under the regulatory regime set up by the member’s party and its coalition colleagues when they were in power. I accept its decision.
