I refer to question on notice No. 770, May 15 2003 and the answer provided and ask -
(1) Given that the Minister for State Development has not answered the specific question with a clear, concise and free from argument answer on the public record will the Minister now provide a clear, concise and free from argument answer to the above referred to questions?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Is the Minister or the Department attempting to cover up serious deficiencies or improper decisions being made within the former Department of Mines and Department of Minerals and Energy concerning Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd environmental bond?
(4) If yes to (3), why?
(5) If no to (3), will the Minister request the Department to provide a clear, concise and free from argument answer to question on notice No. 770?
(6) Can the Minister explain how the answer provided for question on notice No. 485, March 11 2003 provides a clear, concise and free from argument answer to question on notice No. 770, May 15 2003?

I have been advised: (1) Question No. 770 related to answer given to Question 485 that was answered. (2) N/A (3) No serious or improper conduct is known to the Minister. (4) N/A (5) Answered as in (1). (6) Yes. The answer to Question 485 states when the briefing notes were made and on the assumption that Departmental files have already been searched, points out that further research of the matter would appear futile. If the Member considers that this assumption is not correct then a search of Departmental files may be arranged. (7) N/A
