I thank the member for some notice of this question. In 2006-07 approximately 5.5 per cent of the state’s black spot funding was allocated to bicycle safety projects, and eight per cent is proposed for the purpose in the draft 2007-08 state black spot program. There are no allocations in the national black spot program for bicycle safety projects in either 2006-07 or 2007-08. The state Labor government has made a commitment to cycling in Western Australia, and has spent almost $80 million on cycling infrastructure across the state since it came to government in 2001.
