I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question, which I answer on
behalf of the minister representing the Minister for Police.
The Western Australia Police Force
advise the following as at 13 November 2024.
(1) A total of 2 109 applications
were received.
(2) There were 1 627 males, 482
females and zero others.
(3) There were 299, being 238
males, 61 females and zero others.
There is a note, which
states that under a labour agreement signed between the federal and state
governments, skilled police officers from the United Kingdom and the
Republic of Ireland can be granted entry and employment with the WA Police
Force under the employer nomination scheme subclass 186 visa. The agreement
allows WA police to recruit up to 150 experienced international officers each
year over a five-year period.
