The Minister Replied:
Department of Commerce and Trade
(a) There are no plans for re-locating the Perth offices of the Department of Commerce and Trade.
(b) The Department of Commerce and Trade's lease for premises at 168-170 St Georges Terrace expires on 31 May 2002.
(c) No.
(d) The majority of the department's clients are better served by a central business district location.
(e) No.

Small Business Development Corporation
(a) The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) currently has no plans to relocate its offices.
(b) The Corporation's existing lease expires in August 2004.
(c) The Corporation has not considered relocating its offices into the Rockingham City Centre precinct.
(d) Relocation is not considered viable due to the length of the existing lease and the requirement for a central location, preferably in the Perth CBD, which is readily accessible to clients of the SBDC.
(e) The SBDC has no intention of discussing its office accommodation lease arrangements with the Rockingham City Council.
(f) The Corporation currently has no plans to relocate its offices.
Centre for Application of Solar Energy
(a) The International Centre for Application of Solar Energy's (CASE) current lease expires in December 2000 and we are investigating options in terms of renewing the lease or vacating the premises.

(c) Due to CASE's nature of business, which is internationally focussed, we need to be located in Perth.
(d) It is detrimental to industries of which we support.
