Further to the ongoing overhaul of the Department of Agriculture and Food (DAFWA), I ask:
(a) can the Minister please advise what service industries will be impacted by the department’s overhaul;
(b) of the 1,324 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff currently employed within DAFWA, how many staff members will be offered a voluntary redundancy as a result of implementing the DAFWA Transformation Program which has now commenced as a consequence of the State Government’s Priority Plan for Agriculture and Food;
(c) how many FTE staff members will be offered a voluntary redundancy in the following regional offices as a result of implementing the DAFWA Transformation Program which has now commenced as a consequence of the State Government’s Priority Plan for Agriculture and Food:
(i) Broome;
(ii) Carnarvon;
(iii) Derby;
(iv) Esperance;
(v) Jerramungup;
(vi) Kalgoorlie;
(vii) Karratha;
(viii) Katanning;
(ix) Lake Grace;
(x) Manjimup;
(xi) Meekatharra;
(xii) Merredin;
(xiii) Moora;
(xiv) Narrogin;
(xv) Three Springs; and

(a) Areas of low priority, including alignment with government priorities and industry plans. The focus will be on maintaining and strengthening areas that deliver the highest benefits to agriculture and food industries and the Western Australian community.
(b) The department has funding provided for approximately 150 severances.
(c-d xvi)
The process of voluntary severance offers is currently underway and not all offers are likely to be accepted. To provide details to these specific questions would breach the confidentiality of the process and cannot be provided until the voluntary severance offers are finalised.
(e) No staff have been required to transfer at this stage.
